Alexander Trailers offers a wide range of wheelie bin and cage trailers that are tailored to meet the demands of any type of load, whether contained in bins, bags, or loose.
These custom trailers are suitable for various applications, including waste transportation, recycling, or delivering food and parts trolleys.
Our trailers are built to the highest standards, ensuring durability and reliability for any task. They are available with a single, double axel, or turntable steering configuration, and come with bespoke cage bodies designed specifically for your workspace.
In addition to supplying trailers, we also offer drawbar assemblies that can be installed on existing wheelie bins.
CHASSIS
The wheelie bin or cage trailer is available in four different chassis types, each designed to suit its environment and payloads in an ergonomic manner.
The wheelie bin trailer offers rear or side ramps, while the cage trailer has rear doors and hinged drop/removable sides.
Furthermore, each chassis can be customised with various add-ons, including suspension, brakes, covers, and load securing, to meet all your requirements.
STEERING
The choice of steering configurations for our trailers is based on the unique needs of each customer and their specific working environment. Typically, low deck heights are prioritized for easy loading and unloading.
However, we can also accommodate the tightest of spaces and enable multiple towing with the appropriate steering selection.
BRAKING
Braking systems:
- Unbraked trailers – with or without wheel chocs
- Hand parking brake
- Spring over run hitch (inertia braking system)
- Hydraulically damped over run hitch (up to 5000 kg)
- Air braking systems (high capacity)
- Hydraulic braking systems (towing vehicle dependant)
SUSPENSION
Suspension systems for wheelie bin or cage trailers are typically not necessary due to their low-speed operation. Instead, choosing the right combination of wheels and tires can improve ride quality.
However, if needed, the following suspension systems are available:
- Rubber independent suspension (up to 5000 kg)
- Leaf spring suspension
- Hydraulic suspension
- Air suspension
WHEELS & TYRES
- Castor wheels
- Pneumatic tyres
- Pneumatic tyres – foam filled.
- Pneumatic shaped solid rubber (super soft)
- Press on band wheel assembly
- Polyurethane wheel assembly (high capacity)
All above available as anti static or electrically conductive if required.
FINISH
At Alexander Trailers, we understand that the finish of your trailer is important, which is why we offer a range of options to suit your individual requirements. Whether you need a specific colour or finish for corporate branding or to meet health and safety legislation, we can accommodate your needs.
Our range of finishes includes:
- Powder coating
- Wet spray standard finish
- Galvanizing
- Customer specified finishes, including offshore or specialised paint systems.
In addition, we can obtain ATEX certification for specific use if required. Whatever your needs, we can work with you to ensure your trailer has the perfect finish.
SPECIFICATION
As we manufacture trailers to meet each customer’s unique requirements, there are numerous options available, including but not limited to:
- Nonslip wooden, Kering hardwood, plain or chequer plate steel, or steel flow forge decks
- Fixed bulkheads or tilt frame covers
- PVC curtain side grade selection, fully retractable curtains, or webbing load support curtains
- Internal load lock systems for added security
- Double deck loading
- Lights, including positioning and flashing beacons, as well as cameras and parking sensors
- Drawbar levellers, which can be self-levelling, lockable, removable, and extendable
- Hydraulic tail lifts to make loading and unloading easier.
