Platform trailers are widely used across various industries to transport goods and equipment within and outside of the workplace. These trailers can be towed individually or in multiples, and with removable drawbars, they can be towed from either end. Depending on their size, they can be manually manoeuvred using a T-handle or towed by forklift trucks, battery/diesel-powered tow tractors, or motor movers.

Our platform trailers feature various options for running gear and steering systems, ensuring the ability to accommodate even the tightest of turns. With our design expertise, we can develop solutions that ensure the safe transportation of any load around the workplace. Our trailer decks are designed and manufactured to secure even the most awkward of loads. We offer well deck or swan neck trailers that can achieve most deck heights, enabling the transportation of larger loads with a low centre of gravity and low loading height.

We also provide hydraulic elevating trailers that are designed specifically to lift and transport large payloads around the production site. The hydraulic platforms can be customized to accommodate most loads, with lifting capacity varying depending on the size and height of the payload. For more information, please contact us.

Our industrial platform trailers are built to last and require minimal maintenance, making them an excellent choice for various uses in all working environments.

CHASSIS

The industrial platform trailer is available in four chassis types, each specifically designed to suit its environment and payload requirements in an ergonomic manner.

This range of trailers offers the greatest flexibility and can be configured with a full range of add-ons, including suspension, brakes, access ramps, and load securing options, to meet all your transportation needs.

STEERING

With its flexible design, the industrial platform trailer can accommodate a wide range of steering setups to meet the demands of even the most challenging environments.

We offer various types of steering systems, and their respective geometries can be configured to meet your specific requirements.

BRAKING

Braking systems:

  • Unbraked trailers – with or without wheel chocs
  • Hand parking brake
  • Spring over run hitch (inertia braking system)
  • Hydraulically damped over run hitch (up to 5000 kg)
  • Air braking systems
  • Hydraulic braking systems

SUSPENSION

The majority of industrial platform trailers operate at low speeds, making suspension systems unnecessary. Instead, the ride quality can be enhanced by selecting appropriate wheels and tyres.

However, for those trailers that require suspension, we offer a range of options to suit different needs, including rubber independent suspension for payloads up to 5000 kg, leaf spring suspension, hydraulic suspension, and air suspension.

WHEELS & TYRES

  • Castor wheels
  • Pneumatic tyres
  • Pneumatic tyres – foam filled.
  • Pneumatic shaped solid rubber (super soft)
  • Press on band wheel assembly
  • Polyurethane wheel assembly (high capacity)

All above available as anti static or electrically conductive if required.

FINISH

At Alexander Trailers, we understand that the finish of your trailer is important, which is why we offer a range of options to suit your individual requirements. Whether you need a specific colour or finish for corporate branding or to meet health and safety legislation, we can accommodate your needs. Our range of finishes includes:
  • Powder coating
  • Wet spray standard finish
  • Galvanizing
