Roller Bed Trailers
Roller bed trailers are great for transporting large volumes of loads. They come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, to suit every unique requirement. The roller decks are the focal point in the trailer and come in various ergonomic designs to accommodate varying loads.
Types
There are several kinds of roller bed trailers – such as gooseneck, pin type, as well as stretch roller bed types. Many of these can be raised hydraulically to enable easy transportation of wood or steel loads. These trailers also come with tandem axles of a sliding nature, spring suspension, air brakes, scissor hoist of an electrical or hydraulic variety, remote controlled hand set, as well as meshboard. Some of the roller beds are expandable and this can help while trying to carry varying load sizes. Many of the trailers also come with features that prevent any sort of damage caused by fork lifts. Things can reduced apertures on the top plates can minimize such damage. Even safety features like lowering of rollers at the release of emergency brakes, flip-up safety locks etc. all help to keep loads in position, minimize accidents and enhance efficiency.
Features
Many of today’s roller bed trailers are quite advanced. With features like temperature control, doors present overhead, as well as flip-up locks for all overnight freight carriers – these trailers are designed to protect cargo as well as minimize accidents and damage. What’s more, if the design and structure are as per the client’s requirements, efficiency is boosted a great deal. A retractor roller assembly is mounted over a roller bed, which is why the trailer gets its name. By manually pulling out the rollers, one can even extend the length of the frame by about 2 feet. Instead of the manual variety, even powered ones can be used to the same effect.
