Cage Trailer
Usually during transit, cargo needs to be protected adequately in a trailer. It could mean protection from the elements of nature, enabling better transportation, better maneuverability and towing or even hydraulic or manual lifting mechanisms. A cage trailer can comprise any or all of these features.
Common usages
A Cage Trailer is most commonly used in certain select sectors like in the transportation of liquid or solid materials, baggage collection, collection of general waste or even for transporting food trolleys and wheelie bins. Whatever be the end usage the presence of a protection via a cage can mean preventing damage to sensitive material. For example for transportation of stationery, one needs to be careful of nature elements spoiling it, like rain for example. For transporting luggage around the airport or runway area too, the trailer needs to be caged to protect the cargo inside. If it’s a sensitive material like kerosene, the trailer will need to have more than the normal amount of protection. For transporting large equipment, like for example several food trolleys at a time, the trailer needs to have adequate protection by means of a cage.
Design
No matter what the end usage, a cage trailer needs to have a specific design that suits the purpose. The kind of cage and protection used will depend primarily on the type of material being transported. Most of these trailers will inevitably have a low entry to enable easy and quick loading functionality. However, these are the basic design elements.
